John Fabrizio Obituary

John Fabrizio

John A. Fabrizio, passed away Oct. 9, 2003, after a valiant battle with cancer.

He was 90 but not a day over 35 in spirit. He was born in Krebs, Okla., in 1913, and some of his favorite memories and sto ries were of his "Huck Finn" boyhood in Oklahoma. He graduated from North High School. After his family, his lifelong love was baseball. He proudly served in the U.S. Army in World War II and was wound ed in France. John worked as a salesman for M & L Supply Co., retiring at the age of 60. He owned Sav-Mor Supply until he again retired at 75. He traveled his sales route all over Ohio in the days before good highways and cell phones. John loved life and will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elvia (Stevens) and daughters, Diane (Ron) Hummel of Cuyahoga Falls and Jan et Goforth of Denver, Colo. His three granddaughters are De nise (Jeff) Gibson, Stephanie Hummel, and Katie Goforth. He also leaves a great-grandson, Tyler Gibson. He is also survived by sisters, Josephine Buck and Carmen Alexander, and sister- in-law, Margaret Bartolomucci. He loved his many nieces and nephews and their families.

Calling hours are Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. at Hummel Funeral Home, 500 E. Ex change St., Akron. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Church in Cuyahoga Falls. Entombment at Holy Cross Ceme tery. The family suggests memorials to Cuyahoga Falls Cancer Club or St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cuyahoga Falls.

My grandfather was my role model in life. He was my inspiration and I adored him. He loved so unconditionally & unselfishly. I respected him in many ways. I have a huge void in my life now that he is gone. I can't imagine a life without my grandpa in it. He will be missed so much and life for me will never be the same. To my family, my prayers are with all of you as I know you all are feeling the pain of losing him. Until we meet again Grandpa, you are my hero and I will love you forever!

Mrs Fabrizio, my father Carey Holland was the laundry manager at Akron City Hospital and was one of Johns' M&L Supply Co. customers. We as a family eat Sat. night dinners at your home a couple of times and you folks took us out to dinner a couple of other times. We enjoyed those times and I enjoyed meeting John at the hospital when I was with dad. My wife Barbara and I wish to extend our condolences to you, Diane and Janet. Our prayers are with you and your extended family during this time.
