Joseph Pillo Obituary
Joseph Pillo, ``Pop', arrived on this earth on December 23, 1916, and departed this earth on July 18, 2011, at the age of 94, to be rejoined with the love of his life Katherine. They were married on October 1, 1945. Joseph lived his life for his family.
He retired from the United States Navy after 22 years of service and then went to work for the VA Hospital in Brecksville and again retired after 19 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lucia Pillo; wife, Katherine; sisters, Elizabeth, Mary, Ann, Eulanda, and Amaline; brothers, Tony, Paul and Bardine; and son-in- law, Richard Borden. He will be deeply missed by his surviving family members; sisters, Rachel and Margaret; brother, Chester (Wilma); daughter, Joann Borden; son, James (Penny) Pillo; grandchildren, Jason Borden (his primary caregiver), Liberty Manos, Robert (Megan) Maxwell; great-grandchildren, Robyn Bre and Elijah Blair Maxwell; and also by countless friends and neighbors.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Fleet Reserve Association or the Hospice of VNS.
There will be no calling hours. There will be a private memorial service for immediate family only. May he rest,
