Kevin Haney, 74, passed away peacefully on May 13 after a short battle with lung cancer.
He was raised in Tallmadge, the youngest son of Martin and Louise Haney. He joined the U.S. Air Force after high school. En route to Korea, Kevin passed through San Francisco and fell in love with the city. Following his Air Force service, he returned to the bay area, became an attorney and practiced law for more than 30 years.
He loved history, wine, cross word puzzles and good conversation. He kept close ties with his family around the country; he traveled extensively and loved sharing his experiences with friends and family. He was a generous and eclectic spirit and will be missed by those who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Badiha Haney; son, Dr. Sean (and Jennifer) Haney (Mia, Rhys, Dylan--expected in June); daughter, Jennifer (and Kevin) Dewald (John and Stephanie); brother, Paul Haney of New Mexico, sister, Mary Wilson of Stow, cousins, Mary (and Hank) Wuest of Fairlawn; and many admiring nieces and nephews around the country for whom he played the role of "special uncle".
He was predeceased by parents, Martin and Louise Haney; brother, Thomas Haney (and Theresa) of Akron, brother, John Haney (and Alice) of Doylestown; sister, Betty Myers of Louisana; and brother-in-law, Robert C. Wilson of Stow.
A memorial mass of Resurrection was held May 17, 2008 at the Church of St. Isabella in San Rafael, Calif. Donations to the American Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Aside from not having Kevin available to join in on the events, it was a great visit. In honor of your fallen father I decided not to use the online "sympathy expression generator" offered above thinking somehow he might not have approved although he would have had a good laugh that such a facility exists!
