Mark Mellinger Obituary
Mark A. Mellinger, age 40, passed away February 15, 2008.
Funeral services will be held Friday, 11:30 a.m. at the Hopkins Lawver UNIONTOWN Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street, one block NW of the square of 619 and Cleveland Avenue, with Reverend Jack Coontz officiating. Burial at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman. Friends may call at the funeral home 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. TODAY and from 10:30 a.m. Friday until service time. I find it hard to believe nearly a year has gone by already. Although I don't get to see any of you on a routine basis, I wanted you all to know, you're all heavy on my mind and heart. I know Mark's passing has been very hard on all of you and immensely hard on your hearts.

Mike and Jody--I still find it hard to believe. Mark was one of a kind! The girls and I keep his memory alive through song and silly stuff he did! Like the time we brought that box of clothes for Mike=priceless! along with all the other memories. He is truly missed. Unforgetable! Since he can't walk through my door, I will someday have to walk through his. Love to all

I have always looked up to Mark since I was a kid. The last few years I've had the pleasure of seeing Mark out occasionally and he always had a smile. He would say to me that if anybody ever messed with me, he'd take care of it! I looked up to him, and he looked out for me. Now, he is looking out for all of us that he loved and cared for, our big soldier in the sky! Although we'll never understand "why" in this lifetime, the Lord must have just needed him now. Mark was a Gentleman in every sense of the word. His continuous smile and huge heart seemed to always be larger than life itself. Having been great friends for so many years, Mark was like a brother to me and held a very special place in my heart. I feel very blessed to have been a part of his life and am immeasurably grateful that I could call him my friend. It seems so wrong that this time has come so soon for you, his family; and for all of us, his friends; to bear this tragic loss. Mark’s physical presence will be missed by so very many, but his spirit will be forever enstamped in many hearts as we reminisce about all the silly, fun things we’ve done over the years.
There really wasn’t a time that I was around Mark that he didn’t carry that dazzling smile that could light up a room. His big heart, passion for life, and those giant sized bear-hugs, will be missed by so very many. Having made the most of every single day, he was a real example of love, family, friendship, strength and perseverance. I believe this is the Legacy he leaves to each of you, may you carry it with you forever!

Losing someone we love is never easy to accept, especially at such a young age. We find ourselves searching for a reason for what happened and struggling to make some sense of it all. God may not give us all of the answers we seek, but if we have faith, He will give us the love, strength, and courage we need to carry on.

Mark had a good heart,when I spoke to Mark Feb 14th he was
trying to help his girlfriend. I will always remember Mark as having a good heart. God bless your family.

Judy and Glenn,
