Eileen J. Campbell Mellinger, 73

CALCUTTA – Eileen J. Campbell Mellinger, of Calcutta, passed away Saturday evening, December 6, 2025, while surrounded by her loving family at her home following a lengthy illness. She was 73 years old.

Born in Rochester, Pennsylvania, November 24, 1952, she was a daughter of the late Hugh and Betty Carnes Campbell. A resident of this area all her life, she was a member of Point of Mercy Sanctuary of Lisbon. Along with her husband, she was co-owner/operator of PHP (People Helping People) Taxi for 28 years.

She is survived by her husband, David M. Mellinger, Sr., whom she married September 8, 1969. She is also survived by a daughter Betty Boyd (Mike), a daughter-in-law, Christie Blaschak (Jerry), three grandchildren, Maggie (Joshua), David III (Alexandria), and Danielle, and four great-grandchildren, David IV, Avella, Layla and Gabriella, as well as a brother, Carl Campbell (Donna).

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Esther Mellinger, and a son, David Mellinger, Jr.

Friends may visit Wednesday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Pastor Stephen Waddel will conduct a funeral service Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Following the service, family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
