I remember Martha best from our years (1940-43) at Akron City Hospital, in Akron, Ohio. We students were a little band of sisters, struggling through the discipline of nurses'training. I, who had no siblings, experienced for the first time the joys of sisterhood. She helped me out of my lonely, shy and introverted ways.

Martha was an excellent nurse, a loyal friend, a wonderful mother. Her wide, cheerful smile, calm manner and loving spirit embraced us all. I'll always think of her as one of those people whose whole life and being reflect God's glory. I give great thanks for Martha, and for all the beautiful souls I've been given in this life.---Joanna Ormiston Long, Nashville, TN.

I have never forgotten dear dear Mrs. Gullia. I can not express (without becoming tearful) her kindness to me. She must have known what a difficult situation it was with my poor mother. I just don't know. She never said and she never asked me any questions. Whether Mrs. Gullia was aware of my situation or not I do not know. But I DO know about her caring ways towards me and I shall never ever forget. She let me be a part of her family. She could have treated me as a nuisance, but she did not. Till the day I leave this earth, I will always remember her heart of gold.

Thank you, Mrs. Gullia, for always being there for me as a youngster who needed someone to be there. I am sure there are many many gold stars waiting for you now in heaven.

I am sorry I never said this to you in the past, Mrs. Gullia...I secretly always loved you.

Martha, my favorite bridge partner, my favorite tennis partner and my dearest friends whom I have missed more thanwords can express. Her smile, her wit and kindness will always be remembered by Gerald and I. She was my matron of honor at my wedding . She was my friend and companion as she was to many who loved her here in Akron. She was a true example of goodness. I weep now for our loss though our loss began many years ago. She was blessed to have had such loving childen. You were always caring and thoughtful. She loved to visit you Emil and Marcia and looked foreward to having her girls come and visit her from California and Texas. I send my deepest sympathy to each of her children. Debbie you were wonderful to look after Martha when she was in such need.I hope you girls are still having your famous weekends together. We loved the pictures. Blessings on you all,

Gerald and Suzanne Lamb
