Mr. Bramley was born in Sharon Center on June 19, 1909, to the late William and Bertha Mellinger Bramley, and was a lifelong resident of Sharon Township. He married Edna F. Smith on June 30, 1930. After a long struggle with the effects of the Great Depression, Matt found decent employment as an electrician for the Firestone Tire & Rubber Co., retiring in 1971 with 30 years service. He was also a farmer during all his life and a good welder. His ham radio station was W8AUG.
Mr. Bramley was preceded in death by his sister, Sarah Bramley, and is survived by Edna, his wife of 75 years; children, Matthew W. ``Bill" and wife, Rosemary, of Sharon Township, Elizabeth ``Betty" Perry and husband, Oscar, of Lucasville, Joan Brown and husband, Richard, of Deer, Ark.; grandchildren. Jim, Barbara, David, Nancy, Patti, Cindy, Debbie, Karen, Charlie, and Tammy; 18 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services Friday, 1 p.m., at Hilliard & Mullaney Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth, where the family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service, Rev. Charles W. Whitlock officiating. Interment at Sharon Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Battered Women's Shelter of Summit and Medina Counties, 704 N. Court St. Room 21, Medina, Ohio 44256.
