Michael D. Scalera

Michael D. Scalera, age 58, of Streetsboro, passed away suddenly on July 8, 2008.

He was born May 1, 1950 to the late Michael and Alene Scalera. He grew up in Akron.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; son, Wesley (Angie) Scalera; stepchildren, Pauline (Jacob) Dierkens, Kristen (Bryan) Queen, and Rachal and Ryan Weitzel; brothers, Rick (MaryAnn) Scalera, Chuck (Shauna) Scalera, Joseph (Sue) Scalera, and John Scalera; sister, Laura (Joe) Simonson; beloved grandchildren, "his buddies" Madeline and Natalie Queen, and Audrey and Jack Dierkens; along with many beloved nieces and nephews; and his beloved dogs, Rambo and Putzy.

He was a Life Banc donor.

Cremation will take place. Services of his love and faith in Christianity will be held on Friday, July 11, 2008 at 4 p.m. at the Hudson Community Chapel, 750 W. Streetsboro Street, Hudson, Ohio. A time of fellowship will follow the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Hudson Community Church Student Ministries Center. From Your Brother:

Mike I will miss you but I know you are with Jesus now so I will rejoice that you are back home. I will see you soon and we will all share our love with all those who have past away and gone back home to our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

Give Dad and Mom a big hug and kiss. All of you are always in my heart, prayers and thoughts. Tell Grandma, Grandpa, Dennis Kevin & and all the rest of our family I said hello to. See you all real soon.

To my brother' s family:
I said a prayer straight from the heart, God knew I was sincere…
As I prayed for you today The angels gathered near.

I asked God to give us all the strength In this time of sorrow…
I prayed to Jesus and asked Him to send An angel by our side.

I asked the Lord to comfort us
And let the healing waters remove our Tears into the blue deep sea,
Of healing waters.

Tears are heavenly raindrops
God must send to clear the soul
From pain and sorrow so near

The sorrow will quickly disappear and
And be replaced with His rainbow of
Rejoicing, to know that my brother Michael D. Scalera is there.

Kathy and family love you all. My sympathy, heart and love is there for you. May God comfort you in this time of sorrow but also may you rejoice that Michael is with our Lord and Savior.

My brother was a warm, kind person and I know anyone who knew him felt loved. He never thought about himself. He had such a hard life and I think these past 7yrs (almost on the 21st of this month w/hb their 7th wedding anv) he was finally happy. Thank you Kathy and family. Wes you learned alot from your Dad and he and I are very proud of you. He's finally out of pain and doesn't have to worry about the future. We just have another angel in heaven.
