Ora Beecher Obituary

Mrs. Ora Deloris (Lois) Beecher was born May 7, 1932 to the late William Howard Sr. and Amanda Baldwin Howard.

She accepted Chris at an early age and united with Starlight Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. P.H. Hall. She graduated from Wenonah High School of Bessemer, Ala.

Moving to Akron in 1952 she met the love of her life Clarence Beecher. She united with Greater Bethel Baptist Church under the pastorate of the late Rev. G. A. Humphrey where she was a faithful member. After moving to West Akron she became a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in 1979 under the pastorate of Rev. T. DeWitt Smith, Jr. She was a member of the Mothers Ministry, Voices of Praise Choir and supported many ministries especially the Building Fund.

God blessed Ora with a gift of creativity. She was a very hard worker; she started her own office cleaning service where she cleaned many offices throughout the Akron area. She loved gardening, jewelry, interior decorating, and painting. One of her favorite things to do was to celebrate at family gatherings where she was known as the life of the party. Her favorite song was "Your Grace and Mercy."

She was preceded in the death by her parents; husband, Clarence Grubbs Beecher; daughter, Darlene F. Beecher-Gibson; siblings, William Howard, Jr. (Ham), Robert Howard (Duck) and Clarence Howard (Brother). She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Michelle Shadie; grandchildren, Darnell (Gladys) Beecher of Houston, Texas, Karl and Keisha Shadie both of Akron, Ohio; six great-grandchildren, Nathan, Quinton, Donavan, Jason, Kamara and Karde`aire; two sisters, Minnye L. Minister Michelle, Keisha, and entire family. Mother Beecher as i referred to her was a true woman of God, there wasnt a time i visited her that she wouldnt have something to say about our God.She truly loved her Lord, and was never ashamed to acknowledge it. Through the years that i've known her she has been one of my spiritual prayer partners, role models in the Lord. I pray for your comfort, strength, and peace .
