Randall Siebert Obituary

Randall (Randy) Norman Siebert

Randall (Randy) Norman Siebert passed away in Anchorage, Alaska on November 5, 2016.

He was born in Akron, Ohio on August 21, 1968. He is survived by his wife, Wendy Larsen Siebert; his son, Matthew W. Tacke; daughter, Jessica F. Siebert; stepsons, Cameron J. Ashby and Devon O. Larsen; his mother, Judith F. Swiger; his father of 35 years, David R. Swiger; his brothers, Jeffrey J. Siebert, Michael D. Siebert (Annette), James D. Siebert (Darlene), David Swiger Jr. (Dina), and Jeffrey Swiger (Carri); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Norman D. Siebert; sister, Cassandra Swiger; and nephew, Ryan Swiger.

Randy graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1986 and attended Kent State University. In 1991, he joined his brother Jeff Siebert in Alaska. There, he gained business, sales and entrepreneurial knowledge, primarily through his friend and mentor Clif Burnett at Alaska Textiles. Most recently he was the owner/manager of Northern Office Supply and Materials Management of Alaska. He was an avid golfer and music enthusiast. At times, he could be convinced to sing, which delighted his friends and family, especially his rendition of "My Maria". Randy had a funny little habit. He would drag the toe of his right shoe every other step. He wore out a lot of tennis shoes that way.

He was a kind and selfless man who was happiest when helping and serving others. His gift was always wanting and doing what was best for those around him. If you were all alone in a room full of people, he would single you out to make you feel welcome and special. People were drawn to him because he was genuine, generous, and had a great sense of humor.

Randy battled with a disease that ultimately took him away to be with the Lord Jesus. He will be dearly missed by his many friends and family. A funeral service will be held in Anchorage, Alaska on November 19, 2016. A memorial in Akron will be held at a later date. For information on the Akron memorial, please email [email protected].

Randy was one of the good guys. I can remember a time where he talked me into giving sales in the textile business a try. Nearly had me convinced that I could do it. But what I took away most from that conversation was that Randy genually cared about my well being. I wish there were more people like Randy in this world. But Randy was unique, one of a kind, and you were drawn to him. He was with me during my lowest points in life, and he was there with a hand held out, to get me back on my feet. Hell, he'd brush off your knees for you too once you got up. Randy was simply a guy that comes around once in a lifetime. He will be missed. To his family, I pray that God helps you to grieve and surrounds you with an abundance of His love. God bless you.

My condolences to Randy's family. I knew him only via emails exchanged regarding purchases for my office from NOS; however, he was always kind and professional. I grew up in Cleveland, really close to Akron, Ohio. He obviously had those great Midwest values.
