Starla has touched more lives than she could have ever dreamed of. Not only did she make a difference in the youth she worked with but also the adults that worked with her.I will be forever grateful. She reached out to my Army son and my family when issues arose and no one else could help. Major Grubich did. You were an increditable person with a huge heart. May you find the peace in your sole that you've been searching for sister!!
May our paths cross again in Heaven. "Roger that"

To all of Starla's loved ones, my deepest sympathy at your loss. I played ball with Starla and worked at the same facility when she worked at the bootcamp for juveniles. Not only was she tough as nails with those kids, she genuinely cared about them. Her smile and laugh will be what I remember most.

I knew Starla for the past few years and we swam in the pool where she lived this past summer. She was always smiling and nice. She had a really funny laugh and what stories she could tell. I was on my way to see my mom today and came to find out that I past Holy Family Church and saw the cars with the flags on them. I had no idea that she had passed and that was her memorial service in progress. Minutes later after arriving at Stow Glenn Nursing Home to visit my mom, her dad, Mickey came up to me and showed me her picture and obituary. He did not know I knew his daughter until then. I was shocked. It goes to show how delicate life is and I can see from knowing her dad where she got her kindness and sense of humor. I was happy to know Starla and glad we had some very nice summer days laughing and talking at the pool. My sympathy goes out to her entire family. I know she will miss her nephew whom she loved very much. Starla...now a Guardian Angel..will be missed. I salute you.

I had the pleasure of knowing Starla in high school, we played softball together! We had so much fun at our games, she was always so positive, and sweet - to everyone! I am glad to have had the chance to see her this summer at our reunion. She was still so positive and sweet! I gave her a big hug, and am very greatful to have had that opportunity to see her and catch up! My heart goes out to her friends and family, and all of those that will miss her so much! Starla - you and your smiling face will be missed so much!!!!!

R.I.P. Ms Grubich. You are the only teacher that actually wanted to help and see Us graduate. I appreciate all of your help and the fun times that we have all had at Goodyear. I remember Mrs H. We all used to play around and enjoy being in school. It was very cool. And to bring in the JROTC to class was cool too. I was just thinking about you the other day and never remembered to look you up. I know that you were a very happy person and I know that you are watching me type this from Heaven. Tell everyone I said hello and please save a spot for me.

With love

Starla and I went to Akron U at the same time. She was the kind of person who just filled your day with sunshine and brought a smile to your face. Even though we didn't keep in touch after college, I have many fond memories of her and will cherish the time I got to spend with her. Rest in peace - I know you are bringing smiles and laughter to those you are with now.

To Starla's Family
It is with great saddness that fills my heart over the loss of Starla. Strange how things work I was thinking about her this past weekend they to be told on Monday that she had died was a shocker. I worked with Starla at the Medina County YMCA. She will be missed by myself and daughters fact is the reason I thought of her was my oldest joined the Army and is do to go off to Basic in 2weeks so I was going to try and inform her but had lost her phone number. Perhaps she will be a guardian angel for my daughter. Rest in PEACE dear friend.

I can not even find the words!
I am so sorry for everyones loss. Mostly Starla's. Sometimes in the Army the only thing that can express what your feeling is WHooHaa! Starla would know what that means and she would pound her chest with pride and answer back WHooHaa Army Dog! Today I say that and hear her answer back!
I am truly sorry for everyones loss.
