Stephen Mohr Obituary

Stephen J. Mohr, age 55, of Malvern, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2012 following a tragic four-wheeler accident near his home. He was born in Canton, Ohio on April 12, 1957 and was a 1975 graduate of Glenwood High School.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 23 years, Diane (Cherry) Mohr; loving children, Kelli and Nick; his proud parents, John H. and June C. (Schrack) Mohr; siblings, Rick (Deb) Mohr, Randy Mohr, Pam (Andy) Fife and Jeff (Jayma) Mohr; sister-in-law, Char Mohr and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Mohr.

Steve was the owner and president of Advanced Auto Body, Inc., located in Canton, for 23 years. He was a faithful member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Malvern, recent past member of the Brown Local School Board and contributor of numerous community projects. Steve had a love for life that knew no boundaries. If it had a motor, he drove it; if you needed a hand, he lent it; he treated every golf match as if it were the Masters. Beyond that, he had a heart that spent far more time giving than receiving. To know him was to love him, but the love he gave back was endless. His entire community of family and friends will miss his smile and his laugh, but they will never forget his love for life and all its stories.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 125 North Carrollton St. in Malvern, with the Rev. Fr. Victor Cinson as Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home North Canton Chapel, 801 Pittsburg Ave. NW, and one hour prior to mass from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday in the church. Those wishing to send condolences or share a fond memory, may sign the Reed online Guestbook at www.reedfuneralhome.com.

My condolences to all of the family. Steve was one of a kind and those who new him loved him. He loved adventure and there was nothing he wouldn't do. I remember after we graduated from Glenwood, he came to my parents home in Zoar to ride horses with me. He taught me how to take my horse swimming in the lake....something I will never forget. Steve my friend, you lived life to the fullest and you will be missed by many. Save us a spot up there.... Until then, REST IN PEACE MY FRIEND.

I`ve known Steve for as long as I can remember all the way back when my father hired him at Ewings. I worked just around the corner from the shop. I`d see him going past the house all the time in his shop pick-up. It just seems everywhere I went in life Steve was close by. He was a great man and a great friend. May God bring comfort to all at this difficult time.

Just wanted to share a memory-
I'll never forget Steve. What a great guy, an absolute perfectionist. I remember working with my Dad painting and everything had to be perfect. When I bought one of my trucks Steve helped me find the right wax to bring back the paint. I remember standing over the fire pit one night while out riding snowmobiles. And all the good food, friends, and good times shared on Summer nights at your house. Steve was always so generous and welcoming. My heart goes out to you and let the happy memories live on and keep him alive forever. Take care you are in my prayers

Diane & Family,
I truly share Your Grief and Loss! I met Steve through the years of being in the same business. Priviledged He sent word thru the grapevine for Me to come assist Him. I now realize it was Steve, not the Job, I desired to work for. Steve's given Me Gifts of Moral Wisdom that no one can take from Me! Steve always insisted that We always give "Everyone" more than expected to get from our Shop. We nick-named "Quality Work, "the Seeds". We gave the Customer's the Seeds!! Therefore, the Customers flourished the business with Blessings of Prosperity! We were always proud when They were pleased! I'm so glad Steve was Happy and Pleased as well! I know, "The Holy Spirit" is Pleased!! Im sure, They have opened the Gates to the widest extent for his Homecoming! Steve is definitely the only "Boss" I ever loved as a Big Brother! Thank's Boss Man for greatest gifts of all! See you when we get there !
