Thomas Provo, Sr., 78, went home to be with the Lord June 30, 2006 at Rockynol Nursing Home.
Born in Montgomery, Ala., he had lived in this community for 40 years. He retired from Burton Rubber after many years of service.
Preceded in death by his father, James Provo. He is survived by his wife, Ethel; mother, Tommie Provo of Montgomery, Ala.; sons, Thomas (Shawntika) Jr. of N. C. and Jimmy (Tracey) Provo of Akron; daughters, Annie Mae (James) Baker, Bobby Jean (James) Young, both of New Haven, Conn. and Priscilla Provo of Akron; brother, Jessie (Bernice) Provo of Akron and Eddie Provo of Ramer, Ala.; sisters, Willie Mae McClain, Alma Provo and Nancy Lidge all of Ramer, Ala.; nine grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 6, 2006 at 1 P.M. at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 401 Roberts Street, with Pastor George Austin officiating. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from noon until time of service. Interment at Mt. Peace Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to 1350 Curtis St., Akron, 44301.
