Curtis Provo, age 90, of Edina, formerly Richfield, passed away October 27th, 2025.
Curt grew up in South Minneapolis and graduated from South High, where he formed many lifelong friendships. Curt went on to become a plumber and was a proud member of local 15. He served for 8 years in the Naval Reserves. Curt had a lasting love of golf that started with caddying at Town and Country Club as a boy. He loved playing with the guys in his "Hookers and Slicers" group. Curt attended the Masters, played in Scotland, and worked for many years after he retired at Braemar Golf Course. He was a lover of a cup of coffee, the newspaper, a good book, breakfast with the guys, and sitting on the porch at Sunrise assisted living. The Mayor of Sunrise, as someone aptly dubbed him, Curt greeted all and watched the world go by. He was friendly and always ready with a joke and a quip. Curt loved to banter and gave as well as he got. Everyone loved Curt.
Proceeded in death by his parents Alice and Clarence, and brothers Jack and Larry. Curt is survived by his wife of 65 years Betty, daughter Jill (Scott) Rynda, son Barry (Kary), grandchildren Kelly Rynda, Andrew (Jamie) Rynda, Michelle (Cody) Rynda, Alex and Kendra Provo, great-grandchildren Max and Peyton Rynda, sister-in-law Joyce Provo and nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his Sunrise family, for whose friendship, kindness and care we are forever grateful. They are everyday heroes. Thanks also to Brighton Hospice for their wonderful care of Curt. Memorial at a later date. www.Washburn-McReavy.com
