Vernon Appleton Obituary
Vernon Javon Appleton, Jr., 24, passed away unexpectedly on November 12, 2014. He had been a lifetime resident of this community.
He was an avid musican and a gifted athlete, he loved rapping and enjoyed making beats. He played football and basketball.
Preceded by grandparents, Hosea and Betty Mae Appleton. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving mother, Dorothea Rouser; father, Vernon B. Appleton Sr.; grandparents, Dorothy and Copeland Rouser; sisters, VaShawn Appleton and Briana Gary; brother, DeVonne Appleton; daughters, Faith and La'Njae Appleton; grandparents; other mother, Lisa Roseman; and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Shiloh Baptist Church, 1241 Grant Street, Akron, Ohio 44301, Rev. Curtis Minter officiating. Interment Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. On Wednesday. Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 1291 Virginia Ave. Donations may be sent to 1291 Virginia Ave.

My sincerest condolences go out to you and your families Peaches and Vernon. My heart truly hurts for you two from hearing about the loss of your son. He will truly be missed and was a good kid. I can't even begin to imagine the pain that you two are experiencing and my heart is heavy from the fact that their aren't to many words that I can offer to give you comfort. Both of you are in my prayers and give your troubles and burdens over to god. He will be what you need to get you through this trying time along with the memories that you guys share of him and also knowing that you have a piece of him still here with you two through his baby girls. I know that he is gone but never forgotten and I can tell he was truly loved by many through the love that the city has shown him and let that give you some comfort knowing that he had such a positive affect on so many lives. but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness;

When you think of my life on earth,
and all those loving years
because you are only human,
they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers
unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain,
though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you
and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night...
"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street,
and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go...
