Zaire Simba Obituary
Zaire Shakia Simba was born October 2, 1985 in New York City, N.Y. in Beth Israel Hospital. She was 18 months when her family decided to relocate to Akron, Ohio.
Zaire has always been an outgoing, loving and spiritual human being. She was baptized at a young age. She was never afraid to express herself for her love of the Lord.
Zaire attended Akron Public Schools where she played basketball for Central Hower and won many trophies. She was very involved in school activities and a fine student, graduating from Central Hower in 2004.
No words can actually express how amazing she was with others. She was always full of jokes and laughter with others, even on your worst day and had a smile that would brighten up a cloudy day. She loved to write poetry and music. We will miss her laughter and witty jokes.
Zaire was employed at Arthur Treachers while in high school and after graduation she worked at Falls Village and Heather Knoll nursing homes in dietary until her untimely death. She also graduated from NIT.
She was planning to marry her high school sweetheart Charles Dampeer in the summer of 2016. They recently purchased their dream home and had a beautiful use of plans ahead of them.
She joins in heaven her grandparents, Odess and Bertha Laster; brother, Timothy Walker.
She leaves to cherish her in loving memory, mother, Linda Walker; twin brother, Askia Simba; sister, Tiffany Walker; niece, Asia; nephew, Brayden; fiancé, Charles; Godson, Kevin; Mayer L.P. Walker and Christina, and many family members and friends.
A loving flower gone to soon, we pray you took our love with you. The Family.
Service will be held Friday, November 6, 2015 at 12 p.m. at Stewart & Calhoun Funeral Home, 529 W. Thornton St., Akron, OH 44307, Pastor William Jones officiating. Interment at Lakewood Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until time of service. Procession will form at 1140 Pitkin Ave., Akron, OH 44310 and condolences may be sent to 1380 N. Howard St., Akron, OH 44310.

I am so sorry for your loss. My family and I will pray for you all to have strength in your time of mourning. I have been friends with Charles for years,and have had the privilege to meet Zaire.She is safe and home with the Lord and he will take care of her until you meet again .

We went to middle school together. It is so sad to see a former classmate pass away too soon. We are too young for this! I know high school separated us but you were so sweet and funny when I knew you and my condolences go out to Askia and the rest of your family and friends! I'm so sorry for your loss! RIP Zaire!
