Adolphe Schoepflin Obituary

Memorial services for Adolphe J. (Shef) Schoepflin, M. D., (orthopedic surgeon and hospital administrator), 90, Ada, are 11:00 a.m., Thursday, at the Rollow Chapel of the First United Methodist Church, Rev. Bob Langston will officiate. Dr. Schoepflin died Sunday, March 18, 2007, at his home. He was born January 14, 1917, in Queens County of New York City to Adolphe and Gertrude Anna Endres Schoepflin. He graduated from the First Institute of Podiatry in New York City in 1938 and graduated from Buffalo University of Medicine in 1943, and then went on active duty in the U.S. Army Medical Corps. His first assignment was Percy Jones Army Hospital and other assignments included Puerto Rico, Fort Leonardwood, Missouri, U.S. Embassy in London, England as a medical attache. He retired form Landstuhl, Germany, in April of 1974, where he was Commanding Officer. He continued to work for the government until 1999. Dr. Schoepflin and Mary Jo Roberts were married in Ada, Oklahoma, September 4, 1999. Survivors include his wife, Mary Jo Roberts Schoepflin, of the home; two brothers, Herbert J. Schoepflin, Scottsdale, Arizona; his daughter, Lisa Horan and husband, Jack, and their children, Holly and Cameron; and brother, Ronald J. Schoepflin and wife, Barbara, Green Valley, Arizona; his two sons, Stephen Schoepflin and wife, Joan Schoepflin, and Keith Schoepflin and wife, Mari Nakada and their children, Kimi and Asher; step-children, Katherine S. Roberts, Dr. Richard H. Roberts and wife, Mary Margaret, and their children, Margaret Anne, Gregory John and Andrew James Roberts, Marianne Roberts Gwin and husband, Donnel, and their children, Evan Roberts Gwin and Dr. Adrienne Elizabeth Gwin. Criswell Funeral Home, Ada.
