Argonne "Scottie" Shires

Argonne 'Scottie', passed away July 9, 2006. She was born August 30, 1921, in Bloomfield, Nebraska, to John and Edna McQuistan. She married the love of her life, Buster, on Feb. 3, 1946. They moved to Lincoln where she started her career at Western Electric. In 1959, she moved to Bethany, OK to continue her career at Western Electric/ AT&T and retired in 1981 after 36 years. Scottie and Buster spent many years doing what they loved, camping with friends and traveling the county. A light went out in her eye when her beloved Buster passed away in 2002. She is survived by daughter, Karen Henthorne of Yukon, OK; granddaughter, Jennifer DeLara and husband, Antonio of Yukon; great grandchildren, Brittnee, Anthony, Bryan and Isaac; sister, Betty Murray and husband, Lyle of Pharr, TX; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 13, 2006, at 10:00 am, at Bill Merritt Memorial Chapel with interment to follow at Bethany Cemetery.
