CHRISTOPHER KIKER Obituary

Dec 1, 1980 - Sept 20. 2014 OKLAHOMA CITY Our precious Chris is now in peace and among the angels and with his twin sister, Catherine. He left his family and many friends the gifts of love, generosity, kindness and fun. He loved his little son, Ethan, with all his heart, and Ethan was the light of his life. Chris' tenderness, warmth and beautiful spirit touched us all, and we are heartbroken at our loss. We will deeply miss him. After years of struggle with addiction, Chris spent the last months of his life at Rob's Ranch, a Christian-based center of recovery in Purcell, Oklahoma. While there, he thrived mentally, physically and spiritually, and we were able to see again the pure spirit who is truly Chris. Sadly, despite his efforts and great desire as well as the love and commitment of those around him, he lost his battle. However, Chris never lost his faith in Christ, which carried him through it all. We hope that in knowing Chris and our family, others might be helped with their own battles and those around them helped to understand the power of addiction. Chris taught us compassion, empathy, and understanding and that the most amazing of people can be overwhelmed and made helpless by the disease. Chris leaves behind: his son, Ethan Kiker, 4 years old; Ethan's mother, Brooke Williams; his mother, Marian Kiker; his father, Guy Kiker; and sisters, Caroline Guarraia, Elaine Honig, Ashley Horacek, Alice Turnbow, and Karen Kiker. Chris was blessed with a large family: uncles, Gary Watts and Charles Watts; aunt, Elizabeth Harris; and many loving cousins. There will be a private memorial service Tuesday, September 23. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ethan Kiker's College Fund at 440 Crystal Springs Rd, St. Helena, CA 94574.

I am so sorry for the pain that the entire Kiker family is enduring right now. Chris and I talked for hours some nights. Despite his issues with addiction, he was a man who held women in the highest regard, loved babies and dogs, and was a bright spot in an often dismal world. I will miss his smile, his musings on the environment surrounding us, his desire to help others, but most of all his laugh. Chris Kiker was one of the good ones; although I will forever feel that a piece of my heart has been chiseled away due to his earthly absence, I am comforted that he has now found peace, and will sleep the sleep of babies.
Until Next Time, Lauren (Gidget)

I met Chris in highschool, he was a charming fellow, always carrying a friendly smile upon his face. Full of life and laughter. I crossed paths with him a few times over the following years, getting to meet his son. I truly wish there would have been a different means to deal with the life's struggles he had and was having to endure. Never goodbye, but see you later, ol' friend!! I send my condolences to his family and closest friends. May you find comfort in knowing his light still shines upon us from the stars above.

I pray for God's healing and peace for your family. I didn't know your son, but I sure understand the pain. I lost my son Michael in 2006 to addiction and my heart hurts for anyone that struggles with this awful disease. May God's love and grace surround you all now and in the days ahead. We know through His love our sons are now walking the streets of Heaven healed and happy. Hugs.
