Connie befriended me immediately when I went to work at the Stephenson Cancer Center, and she quickly became my best friend and advocate. When I left almost four years later, Connie came to Arizona to visit me for a week, and we had such a good time! I never imagined it would be our last visit. Life after that visit became more challenging for both of us health wise and career wise. I, being older and married could retire, but Connie had to stay in the trenches and fight it out. And fight she did, like the Warrior Woman she was, nearly always working two jobs to pay the bills.
During this time she had two real joys-Erin's beautiful wedding and marriage to the man of her dreams, and then later, the birth of her precious granddaughter that sent Connie absolutely over the moon! How she treasured every moment she spent with that sweet baby. I thank God she had that glorious time with her granddaughter.
Speaking of God, Connie just spent her first Christmas with Jesus! Imagine how excited she must have been! Connie was a prayerful woman, who loved the Lord, and I know without a doubt she is in the embrace of her mom and grandparents. Can you imagine Connie when she first saw her mom waiting as she stepped into Heaven with her angel escorts? If you were close to Connie you know how much she has missed her mom!
I will miss Connie and her friendship, her patients will miss their experienced, knowledgeable advocate, and her family most of all will miss their passionate, loving, mother, sister, and daughter. My thoughts and prayers go to the family.

We had so many good times. The world just felt empty knowing that you are no longer here. I truly had a great time with you. Thank you for your friendship

Connie was a beautiful person who will be deeply missed. I enjoyed working with her and seeing her passion for people and for situations in which she could help. Thinking of and praying for your family during this difficult time.
