David Albright Obituary

David R., 42, a lifetime resident of OKC, passed away Sept. 21, 2007, after a sudden heart attack. He was born Oct. 23, 1964, in OKC, OK, to Ray & Wanda Albright. After graduating from Western Heights H.S. in 1982, David attended the Univ. of Okla., where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in 1987. David then went to work as a salesman for his father at Ray Albright Steel Products and contributed in many ways to the success of the company. Having a strong sense of conviction to serve his community & fellow man, David was a Reserve Deputy for the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Dept. honorably serving for many years. Even though he may have had a tough & solid exterior, David was really a soft & cuddly Teddy Bear on the inside. He was always willing to give of himself and sacrifice for the sakes of others and was once honored with the 'Life Saving' award. With a welcoming smile & inviting spirit, David was a natural when encountering people. Seeming to have never met a stranger, David had a special way of captivating & embracing the lives of others with his orneriness, sense of humor and love for practical jokes. A member of Westmoore Community Church, David also enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. David's greatest joys in life were those moments spent with his family's who he loved so very much. A loving husband & devoted father, David was a vital part of his family's life. David was the all American Dad! From fixing his daughter's hair in the mornings, coaching her 'Fire Stix' softball team, taking his son to football practice & cheering at his games, taking both kids on motorcycles rides, and doctors & dentist appointments, whatever the needs were, David fulfilled them with a joyful heart. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Mount StephensAlbright, on March 25, 2003. He leaves cherished memories with his loving wife of 19 yrs., Shelly (Rayburn) Albright and his two adoring children, Brenton & Heather Albright, all of the home; father, Ray B. Albright of OKC; brother, Charles Stephens & wife, Kathy of Moore; and a host of other loving family & friends. Memorial donations may be made to: The David Albright Memorial Fund, c/o OCSO FOP-155, PO Box 2923, OKC, OK 73101 (please note for David Albright Fund on the check memo). Friends may call for viewing from 12-8 PM on Sunday and from 9 AM-7 PM on Monday at Vondel Smith & Sons Mortuary at South Lakes, 4000 SW 119th St. The family will receive friends for visitation from 5-7 PM on Monday at the funeral home. Services to celebrate his life will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007, at Westmoore Community Church, 12609 S Western Ave. Interment at Heritage Burial Park at South Lakes.
