Sydney, dry, zac, and Ashley, I am so sorry to hear about David. He was a very special man. I never saw him without a smile! Bubbas BBQ was some of my favorite memories. He pinched my cheeks every time I saw him and he let me come behind the counter and watch him cook. Loved that man! God bless all you and may His peace and comfort surround you. Xoxo

David was a great guy with a remarkable memory for people. I first met David when he and his Dad had Zak's at Shepherd Mall since I also worked in the Mall we got to know each other. I followed him to several restaurants over the years. He always greeted me and called me by name and always wanted me to try something new and made everyone feel like they were his best customers and always glad to see you. My condolences to his friends and family, he will definitely be missed, he was a top-notch person that made a positive impact on those who knew him.

I’m going to miss you very much Uncle David! My favorite memories growing up was coming to your restaurant with dad on the weekends and mornings! I know you are up there in Heaven hanging out with my dad! Love you!

I don't remember first meeting David. I just "knew him." He lived two blocks west of me in Edgewater. I was a punky sophomore, he a way cool senior. He's got nothing to gain by being my friend. Yet, he was.
Before I could drive in May my sophomore year, David carted me around. He'd take me home from activities. He took me to Across the Street. We'd hang out. Of course, he knew lots of "neat people." I think being with him added to my credibility. I had crushes on several senior girls...lol...like they knew or cared.
David was a restaurant owner, BBQ mostly, later in life. I'd stop and eat, visit with him. I think I took him to his 40th Reunion of the 1968 class. By that time, his vision was too impaired to drive.
Just a great great guy who "took me on" for absolutely no reason...and I've been grateful forever.
