I was fortunate to work with Dave and Brad when they were at CMI. Months after Dave had left the company I received a phone call from him at work. He called to congratulate me for a job well done on a project I worked on that he heard about. That one purposeful phone call from this kind and generous man, an industry icon, elevated and inspired me greatly. I will never forget his gesture and intend to follow his example, always. My deepest sympathy to Brad and family.

My heartfelt prayers go out to Helen and the rest of the family. I was a member of his high school graduating class of l957 in Oswego, IL. I am so glad that Dave and Helen were able to come to our last class reunion back in 2007. God be with you.

Helen, Brad and Familly,
We were saddened to hear this news. Dave helped me for 25 years with his experience and knowledge of our business. We shared many good times and memories and he will always have a fond place in my memory. Our sympaties.

Garbelman Family,
It as my pleasure to work with Dave for 23 years at CMI. Dave taught me alot about the asphalt equipment line. He was alwaye my go to guy when I needed help.
I know he is going to be missed greatly by all his friends and family.

Brad and family: So sad to hear about your dads passing away. I started out being a customer of his and it did not take but the first time of personally meeting him for me to consider him a freind. I am so sorry to hear about Dave. He was a very good friend for a majority of my life, and someone whose opinion I valued. I know you will miss him.
We shared more than 20 years at CMI, and like most work experiences, ours covered situations that brought frustration, laughter, some intense crises, and some incredible triumphs. Dave was an integral part of all, but behind the work related issues, was always a close personal friend. There were 8 or 10 of us that always shared our thoughts about our lives, the company, other people, and our families. You should all be comforted knowing that this generous man loved all of you very much.
He is the second of this group to leave us, and will be missed by many that are left. My condolences to all of you on your loss. It's a loss to us as well.
I would be there with you, but Becky has some major surgery scheduled for this Friday, so I'll have to settle for being there in spirit only. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

My deepest sympathies and prayers to all of Dave's family especially Helen and Brad. We worked together for 15 years and he was a good friend. He was always willing to help in anything asked of him by friends, family and employer.
A gentle soul has left us. His passing is a loss to us all.
