GEORGE CYMBALIST Obituary

May 25, 1936 - Nov 1, 2012 OKLAHOMA CITY George E. Cymbalist was called to his Lord November 1, 2012. George was born May 25, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated high school from Lane Technical Institute in Chicago. He attended De Vry Techincal Institute, majoring in electrical engineering. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, he began working for the Naval Ordinance in Forest Park, IL as an electrical engineer in weapons support for Vietnam. He then applied and was accepted at the FAA. There he taught electrical engineering to students from all over the world. He retired from the FAA in 1992. He continued to reside in Oklahoma City, where he owned substantial rental properties. He was an accomplished home builder in Oklahoma City. George was a licensed aircraft pilot and certified scuba diver. He was a food connoisseur and loved taking his many friends out to eat. He loved to cruise, traveling all over the Caribbean. He is survived by his significant other, Charlotte Banks; his nephew, Chris Stoewsand and wife Lorie; and two cousins, Danny Berck and wife Linda, and Joyce Carlson and husband Carl. George was loved by so many. He will be missed by all. Funeral services were held on Friday, November 9, 2012, in the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel.

I am so sad to hear about George. We dated for 3 years and I considered George to be a great friend. I last spoke to him on his birthday in May. I know he will be missed by many including me.
