Glennie Ellis Obituary

Glennie Ellis, 88, a former Hobart, OK, resident, passed away in Bryan, Texas, on Friday, December 7, 2007. She was born November 24, 1919, in Haleyville, Alabama, to Gaut and Lula (Hicks) Davis. She graduated from Reydon High School and lived in Hobart many years before moving to south Texas about 5 years ago. She married Jimmie Ellis on July 14, 1967 in Lawton, OK and he preceded her in death in 1994. She was an active member of the Church of Christ while she lived in Hobart, OK. Survivors include her daughter, Karen Davis and husband Mike, Bryan, TX; stepdaughter, Gaynelle (Ellis) Carley Gray, Denton, TX; stepson, Don Ellis and wife Janice, Roosevelt, OK; 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Earlene Hughes Arkansas; 3 brothers, Lester Davis and wife Clara, Reydon, OK, Vercia Davis and wife Donna, Mustang, OK, and Carl Davis, Oklahoma City, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jimmie, 2 sisters, Dessie Burks and Lola Faye Burks and 2 brothers, Orvis and Scott Davis. Graveside Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 13, 2007 at Hobart Rose Cemetery, Hobart, OK, with Dr. James Carley officiating. Burial will follow in the Hobart Rose Cemetery, under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Hobart, OK.
