MONTGOMERY LAWSON Obituary

"Monty" LawsonJune 18, 1951 - May 14, 2012 OKLAHOMA CITY Montgomery Wayne Lawson was born June 18, 1951, in Seminole, Oklahoma. He departed this life on May 14, 2012, in Oklahoma City, OK. Monty is survived by his only daughter, Monica Lawson Williams and husband Mike of Oklahoma City; three grandchildren, Autumn, Samantha and Lawson Jack Braden; his sister, Janice Brinsfield and husband Frank of Spring, Texas; a brother, Allen Lawson of Shawnee, OK; five nieces; and four nephews. He also left behind loving uncles, aunts, cousins, his great-nieces and nephews and many close friends. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, Grover Lawson and Phyllis Asbury Rose; a baby brother, Davis Lawson; and two grandchildren, Logan and Hayden. Monty served his country in the U.S. Army, serving a tour in Vietnam. He was a truck driver most of his life and was most recently employed with J&L Oilfield Services. Monty loved his family and friends and took every opportunity to make them feel special. He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, attending their activities and riding his motorcycle. Monty was an organ donor and gave life to others through his generous gift. He will be greatly missed. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 19, 2012, at John M. Ireland Funeral Home, Moore, OK. Interment will be held at 3 p.m. at Little Cemetery, Seminole, OK. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home.

As chaplain of the VFW in El Reno, we would like to give our condolences to the family of Monty Lawson. He was an honorable vet and will be missed.

I have known Monty since 1996. I always laughed when he was around and he always liked telling me that he had a daughter with the same name as me (Monica). He was a good friend to not only me but my mother Wilma also..I am hearsick over his loss, especially for Monica and the grandbabies..I bet Jesus is enjoying your bird calls!!! Will think of you often

Monty was a beautiful person. Only knew him a short time but he impressed me with his sense of humor and so much love for Monica and the grandbabies. Had new pictures to show me everytime I saw him. He will truely be missed by so many. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and all of those who suffered in his loss.
