May 5, 1938 - March 27, 2016 EL RENO Nelda Ruth Maynard passed away March 27, 2016, in OKC. She was born May 5, 1938, in Big Spring, TX to John & Pauline (Hart) Garrison. Mrs. Maynard worked in government procurement and bookkeeping for Carter Chevrolet. She was an avid golfer, who also enjoyed ballroom dancing, singing, playing the piano, quilting, and crocheting. Mrs. Maynard was a member of Highland Baptist Church in El Reno. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Daury Cockrell; and daughter, Staci Tomkinson. Survivors include her husband, Roy Maynard, of the home; daughter, Cheryl Burrows, of Austin, TX; stepsons, Christopher Maynard & wife Heather, of OKC; and Matthew Maynard & wife Renee, of OKC; grandchildren, Lacy Roberson & husband Matt, Makaylah Maynard, and Savannah Lindley; brothers, John Garrison & wife Betty and Buddy Garrison; other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2016, at Highland Baptist Church Youth Center, 913 S. Boynton, El Reno, OK. Memorial Services will be held Friday, April 1, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Highland Baptist Church in El Reno, OK. Memorials may be made to the Highland Baptist Church building fund. Cremation is under the direction of the Wilson Funeral Home, El Reno, OK.
