Oleta Ulm Obituary

Oleta Mae Ulm was born on April 6, 1916 in Virgil, Kansas to Warren and Grace Brooks. They moved to Emporia where she attended the Emporia Schools and graduated from Emporia High School. She attended Kansas State Teachers College now Emporia State University where she majored in accounting. She married George Ulm on December 30, 1942 in Emporia, Kansas. They celebrated 60 years of marriage this past December in Edmond, Oklahoma where they have lived since 1991 with family around them. Her family was her life. Oleta loved politics, and was an avid reader, and an excellent seamstress. She always found time to spend with her grandchildren. They were her precious jewels. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church of Emporia, Kansas. She is survived by her husband George, a daughter Cheryl Coffelt, three grandchildren Justin and Errin Coffelt, and Katie Coffelt, her loving sister Leona and brother-in-law, Laddie Stierwalt, along with nieces and nephews. Oleta loved them dearly. Oleta was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and his wife, Otis and Helen Brooks, and her son in-law, Danny Coffelt. Services will be held in Emporia, Kansas at the Grace United Methodist Church with burial at Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in her honor to Odyssey Hospice of Oklahoma; 2212 N.W. 50th Suite 246; Oklahoma City, OK 73132.
