Robert Daniels Obituary

Robert W. Daniels. M.D. December 31, 1937 December 16, 2001 Robert W. Daniels, M.D., 63, of Midwest City, was born December 31, 1937 in Oklahoma City to Fred and Arzella Daniels. He graduated from Del City High School in 1956 and continued his education at the University of Oklahoma graduating with honors with a degree in Pharmacy in 1961 and a degree in Medicine in 1968. After 2 years service in the Army serving in Korea, he practiced family medicine in Midwest City for 28 years. His patients were a cherished part of his extended family and he missed them greatly after his retirement in 1996. He was affectionately known to family and friends as 'Bobby D'. To know him was to love him and his absolute joy of life, devotion to family, incredible sense of humor, generosity, kindness of spirit, unfailing honesty, and high moral code. His hallmark as a friend and a physician was his compassion for every person he knew. No one who heard him tell Jokes will ever forget his infectious laughter and inability to complete the punch line. He had a great love of travel, gardening, skiing and donated countless hours providing local school sports physicals and participating in Career Days. And we must mention one of his greatest passions of all, the OU Sooner football team. He made each and every one of us feel special and has left an inspiring legacy. There will never be another like our Bobby D. Bob is survived by his wife, Novelyne; daughters Denise Trattner and Kim Dietz; grandson Robert Trattner; son-in-law Michael Dietz and special family friend Claudine Livengood. He is also survived by his sisters Wanda Donwerth, Ann Wright, and Margie Rhoades and brothers Harry Daniels, Larry Daniels, and Doyle Daniels. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a circle of amazing, loving friends. Services will be held at Barnes and Johnson Funeral Home, Midwest City, Thursday, December 20 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Autumn House or the charity of your choice. Barnes & Johnson F.H. 1820 S. Douglas Blvd Midwest City 733-2991

Dear Family & Friends:

I never had the chance to actually meet Bob in person, but I did have the opportunity to speak with him on the phone at his sister, Ann's, house numerous times. He was always telling me a joke and then I would tell him one in return. I loved his emails and wonderful sense of humor. My thoughts and prayers are with you all and may Jesus fill the void in your lives by the departing of your precious Bob. I know he loved you very much.

To the family,

This world will not be the same as we have lost a great man. Dr. Daniels was our family physician. He was there with our family when we lost our dad to cancer. He even made a house call to visit my father. That meant the world to my dad. He was the greatest. Our prayers and thoughts are with you. God bless you all and may the peace of God which passeth all understanding be with you today and forever.
