STEVEN WRIGHT

1956 - 2016

Dec. 23, 1956 - Aug. 21, 2016 OKLAHOMA CITY Professional Musician, Steve Wright, was born in Hollywood, CA, and raised in a musical family, where he displayed an early affinity for music. He studied classical piano with renowned Bruce Sutherland in Santa Monica. Steve's love for the drums led him to become a first rate drummer/percussionist. He began his professional career in his mother's band at the early age of 14 in Oklahoma City, where they had moved in 1971. He went on to play with many groups/bands and artists. Steve's talent included arranging, composing and producing as well as singing. He was a noted session player and recently joined Tate Publishing in Mustang, OK as a producer. Steve leaves his daughter, Natalie Juaregui & husband Eddie; grandson, Milo Juaregei; grandchildren, Ben and Olivia Faiman; ex-wife and friend, Kathy Sadler; mother, Linda & her husband Joey Piro; brother, Joseph Piro; and uncles, Joe Wright and David Fagel. Steve's brother, Rick, preceded him in death on Feb. 7, 2016, in Nashville, TN. A Memorial Service will be held at New Covenant United Methodist Church at 2700 S. Boulevard, Edmond, Saturday, Sept. 10 at 2 p.m. with a reception immediately following.
