Tommie Hawkins Obituary

HawkinsFeb 7, 1934 - March 16, 2012 HARRAH Tommie Virgel Hawkins, age 78, died on March 16, 2012, at Midwest Regional Hospital. Tom was born February 7, 1934, in Lindsay, Oklahoma, to Sherman and Maggie Hawkins. On June 4, 1954, Tom married Catherine Stroud in Clovis, New Mexico, before settling down in Harrah, Oklahoma. Tom worked for TransCon Truck Lines for twenty-five years before retiring. After retiring, Tom operated Harrah Truck Service until last year. Tom was preceded in death by his brother, Marvin Hawkins; and sisters, Model Whiteley and Mary Wilson. He leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife of 57 years, Cathy Stroud Hawkins; sons, Jerry Hawkins and wife Stephanie of Oklahoma City, Larry Hawkins and wife Elizabeth of Bixby, and Thomas Hawkins and wife Amy of Harrah; brothers, Ray Hawkins of Chickasha, and Jim Hawkins of Midwest City; sisters, Jo Pugh of Harrah, and Janie Eades of Denton, Texas; grandchildren, Christopher Hawkins of Luther, Heather McBride of Luther, Bryan Hawkins of Oklahoma City, and Charlotte Hawkins of Harrah; and a great-grandchild, Brandon McBride of Luther. Tommie was loved by all and will be greatly missed. We look forward to the day when we will be reunited in Christ's Kingdom. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at Hibbs Funeral Home, 2190 North Harper Road, Choctaw, OK.
