HamiltonSeptember 13, 1972-October 15, 2015 EDMOND Travis Matthew Hamilton, 43, of Edmond, OK, left this life on October 15, in Idaho, doing what he loved, which was flying. He leaves behind his loving wife Beth, daughters Paige and Anabeth, son Matthew, parents Dennis and Yvonne Albers of Columbia, SC, Thomas and Debbie Hamilton of Oklahoma City, OK, and sister, Heather Royal of Highlands Ranch, CO. Travis was born on September 13, 1972 in Clinton, OK. He showed his ambition at an early age, becoming an Eagle Scout at the age of 15 and he stayed active in the Boy Scouts with his son, Matthew. He graduated from Putnam City North High School and from Northeastern State University. After a successful career in the Army, Investment Banking and Private Equity fields, Travis founded Group d'Avia to assist aircraft purchasers in acquisition. A former Captain for Republic Airways, Travis loved to fly and was a very accomplished pilot, most recently flying a G550 for Priester Aviation. He was an active member of the OKC Chapter of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO).Travis was rarely seen without a smile on his face. Many friends loved to live vicariously through his frequent world travels and exciting adventures. He had a generous heart and would do anything to help his countless friends. Travis may have been taken too soon but what a life he led while between Heaven and Earth! His family and friends are left to treasure his life, as it inspired many to live their dreams as Travis chased his. Let us look forward to the day we can soar with Travis again. A service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, October 24, at 1:30 p.m. at Henderson Hills Baptist Church, where the family are members. A come-and-go visitation and reception will be held on Friday, October 23, from 6-8 p.m. at Crawford Family Funeral Service, Edmond.

I am very sorry to hear of Travis' death. I enjoyed very much working with him at Republic Airways 2009-2011 in the Frontier merger. Travis' aviation, transactional and finance experience was a tremendous resource throughout the negotiation and arbitration process that followed the Frontier/Republic merger. Travis had good judgment and good humor! My deepest sympathies to his family.

When he wasn't home being a wonderful husband and father, for many years, Beth, Paige, Anabeth, and Matthew waited patiently as Travis jetted around the globe- Canada, Fiji, Iceland (in the middle of an erupting volcano), Dubai, Germany, Antigua, and countless others. They waited for him to return home from his adventures when they weren't able to join him. Now, he has ascended even higher to his Heavenly home. Instead, Travis will be the one waiting for his family to one day join him at home in the most beautiful destination of all. May he fly high and may the Hamilton family keep his legacy alive by continuing to live every day to the fullest. I will remember his smile always.

My heart and prayers go out the Hamilton family and friends. I flew with Travis at Republic Airlines as his First Officer and shared many hours in the cockpit with Travis. I always had a great time flying with Travis and had kept in touch with him over the years after he left. Travis always had a smile, a laugh and a generous soul that will never be forgotten. I consider myself lucky to be able to call Travis a friend!
