Rev. William Robert McCroskey Sr.

William McCroskey Obituary

Reverend Wm. Robert McCroskey Sr. went home to be with his Lord Jesus on May 15, 2008. Born January 10, 1925 to George & Gertrude McCroskey in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, he was the youngest of five. He served his country during WWII enlisting in the Air Force. He lived for the Lord his entire life - loving Him completely. He served God as a Nazarene Missionary for 36 years to the Philippines and 1 year to Hong Kong alongside his wife Tillie. He adored his wife and they shared a deep unconditional love enjoying a wonderful life together for 63 years. He cherished his family and after so many years of being separated from his children and grandchildren one of his greatest joys was spending time with them. He enjoyed studying the Bible, fishing, meeting new people and asking lots of questions. He loved to cook, work in his garden and refinish old furniture. He loved his Church and currently was a member of Bethany First Church of the Nazarene. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and all of his siblings. He is survived by his wife Tillie, 3 children, Dr. Robert McCroskey Jr. and his wife Rosa, Nazarene Missionaries in Indonesia, Carolyn Rowe of Oklahoma City, Melanie Hykes and husband Bill of Yukon 5 grandchildren, Kimberly Anderson and husband Mark of Oklahoma City, Traci Kindred and husband Torrance of Seattle, Washington, Aimee Doss and husband Robert of Bethany, Kara McCroskey of Austin, Texas, and Kent McCroskey and wife Aimee of Bartow, Florida 9 great grandchildren, Myc & Sam Doss, Josiah, Levi, Sarah, Hope, & Eden Grace Kindred, and Connelley & Campbell McCroskey. Viewing is Monday, May 19, 2008 at Mercer Adams Funeral Home in Bethany from 7-9 pm, Funeral services are Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at 2:00 pm, Bethany First Church of the Nazarene. Burial is in the Bethany Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you consider a donation to the Indonesian Mission Field c/o Bethany First Church of the Nazarene.
