James Maples Obituary
Goshen
James W. Maples died at home, Aug. 13, 2021, after a long illness. He is survived by his wife, Julia L. Fields; daughters Diana Smith (Donnie) of Carrollton, Linda Zinn (Ed) of Lima, Ohio; and a son James (Sandy) of North Carolina. He had eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Jim was a veteran who served proudly in the 82nd and 101st Airborne Division, was a retired Kentucky State Trooper and a farmer.
A graveside service was held Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2021 at Cave Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Pearson's Funeral Home.
The family suggests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Humane Society of Oldham County, 2419 Kentucky Hwy 53, La Grange, Ky. 40031.
