John Coleman Franklin, 78

John Coleman Franklin of Louisville left this earth and met his heavenly father on April 8, 2024. He was a retired mechanic from Ashland Oil Company and petroleum hauler for Marathon Oil. He enjoyed his time then with his family, tinkering in the garage and trying to outdo his son on the first tomato of the year.
John was born to Edward Wallace and Evelyn McCoy Stewart Franklin. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers; Edward "Sonny" Wallace Franklin Jr. and Joseph "Joe" Stewart Franklin, one sister; Billie Rhea Hoertz, and three infant granddaughters; Amber and Rachel LeCompte, and baby girl Roberts.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years; Diann Alexander Franklin, his children; Shonna Roberts Owens (Mike), Mark Franklin (Debbie), Bobby Burba (Beverly), Chris Franklin (Amy), Scott Burba (Kim) and Karen LeCompte (Tommy), 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many brother and sister in laws.
Cremation was selected in accordance with his wishes. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

I was John´s manager for 5 years. I enjoyed John´s ever pleasant personality. He was a hard working, conscientious employee. He is certainly missed.
