John Bartoszek Obituary

John D. Bartoszek

SALAMANCA - John D. Bartoszek, 76, of Salamanca, died Sunday morning (Feb. 15, 2026) at Buffalo General Hospital, following a long illness.

Born April 14, 1949, in Salamanca, he was the son of the late John and Lorraine Smith Bartoszek. He was married Sept. 23, 1972, in Salamanca, to the former Christine Dry, who survives.

He attended Salamanca High School.

He had been employed as a driver with UPS for over 20 years prior to his disability.

John enjoyed spending time with his family, especially attending his children's and grandchildren's sporting events. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and infectious laugh.

In his younger years, he enjoyed golfing, bowling and playing fast-pitch softball.  As a sports enthusiast, in his later years, he was an avid New York Yankees, NASCAR and Buffalo Bills fan.

Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Jay Bartoszek and Chad (Denise) Bartoszek, both of Salamanca; two grandsons, Brandon Bartoszek and Tyler Bartoszek, both of Salamanca; a sister, Dianne Herrick of Salamanca; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a sister, Debra Crowley.

There will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday (Feb. 19, 2026) in Our Lady of Peace Parish, 274 Broad St., Salamanca, with Rev. John Trela as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River St., Salamanca.
