Wanda emigrated from Poland to the United States in 1960, and became a proud American citizen that same year. While raising her children, she was employed by Bell Laboratories (Lucent) in Naperville, IL, a job she truly loved. She retired in 1994 so she could travel and babysit her grandchildren. Her extensive travels took her to every continent in the world, and included 17 cruises.
She is survived by her children, Annette (Rick) Lawrence, Jack (Donita) Bartoszek, her grandchildren, Sarah (Ryan) Christian, Stephanie (Brooke) Kinney and Allen Bartoszek, great-granddaughter Baby Christian arriving in December, cousins, Adam (Marge) Szczotka, Jadzia (Jerry Mangino) Szczotka, Basia Bartoloni, Liz (Fedele) Laurino, as well as many relatives in Poland. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jozef and Zofia Szczotka, her brothers, Jerzy and Zbigniev Szczotka, and her husband, Bruno Bartoszek.
Family will be receiving guests at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM. Funeral Mass follows at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Aurora, IL. A private burial will take place at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
