John Visser Obituary

CUBA - John G. Visser, 78, formerly of West Main Street, passed away Friday (Sept. 7, 2012) at the Bath Veterans Administration Medical Center.
Born Dec. 10, 1933, in Flint, Mich., he was a son of the late John and Alice Hoort Visser.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955 and was honorably discharged.
On Feb. 9, 1957 in Olean, he married Sandra Cradduck, who predeceased him.
John was a 1952 graduate of Kearsley High School in Flint, Mich.
Surviving are three daughters, Sydney (Jack) Serson of Easton, Pa., Ali (Dan) McCarthy of Friendship and Ann (John) Visser-Depp of Bolivar; a son, John (Nancy) Visser of New Milford, Conn.; 10 grandchildren; brothers Clarence of Holly, Mich., Donald of Flushing, Mich., Paul of Charlevoix, Mich., Robert of Oscoda, Mich., the Rev. Franklin of Brunswick, Ga., Dr. David of Burton, Mich., Kenneth of East Jordan, Mich., and Ray of Dewitt, Mich.; sisters Aleta Whitaker of Traverse City, Mich., and Grace E. Vandyk of Comstock Park, Mich.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Henry.
A private funeral service will be Wednesday (Sept. 12, 2012) at Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 51 S. Main St., Portville. The Rev. John Woodring will officiate. Burial will be at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Portville.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to a veterans' organization.
