Marion Margaret Taylor McClarin Blomberg was born in Great Kills, Staten Island, NY on July 19, 1940, and passed away peacefully on February 25, 2025 at 84 years of age. She was the daughter of Francis and Bertha Adamo Taylor, and sister of Frances, and F. Raymond, all who are now deceased. Marion graduated from Tottenville High School and SUNY Fredonia where she received a degree in music education and met her first husband, Donald G. McClarin, also a music educator. Donald passed away in 2011.

Marion is survived by their three children, Donald Jr. (Christine), Ronald Raymond (Brandy), and Bonnie Jean (Terry Cole), all still living. They had ten grandchildren Kyle Snell, Curtis (Keely) McClarin, Cori McClarin, Abigail (Clayton) Hubert, Clayton Snell, Brent Cole, Melissa Cole, Gabrielle (Eric) Crosby, Macy McClarin, Lily McClarin, and two great grandchildren Crew and Riley. Marion was a lifelong musician having begun the study of piano at the age of five. She was an organist, choir director, piano teacher, and an elementary music teacher at Portville Central School in Portville, NY for twenty-four years. She and Donald traveled all over the eastern seaboard with their students for a multitude of marching band and concert band events. The McClarins loved to travel and have been in all fifty states as well as traveling abroad. They had a very happy life together. After Donald passed away Marion continued to travel for the next ten years. In 2013 she was blessed by a second marriage to Douglas Walter Blomberg whom she met at Hope Lutheran Church in The Villages, Fl. They had a very happy life together. Marion was formerly a member of the Hope Lutheran Church Council and has always been an active volunteer in her church both in The Villages and for many years when residing in Portville.

I worked with both McClarins for many years at Portville Central and was very impressed with their outstanding music abilities. They did a lot for the music school´s program. For a number of years, Marion played the piano for the Elementary Morning Program, and she talked me into acting and singing as Rudolph and Frosty for several Christmas programs. What a great time! She also taught Ecology Camp songs to sixth graders just prior to their annual camp week. She was an essential part of the school´s fabric.
I was also privileged to have their three fine children, Don, Ron, and Bonnie as students. I thoroughly enjoyed the years with Marion and her wonderful family.
You all have my sincere condolences, and I wish you well. You have many wonderful memories to hang onto. May God continue to bless you.
