HINSDALE - Nancy D. Farris, 82, of Main Street, passed away Sunday (March 9, 2025) at Buffalo General Hospital.

Nancy was born Nov. 21, 1942, in Buffalo, and was the daughter of Roscoe and Evelyn Dickover Helreigl. On Dec. 28, 1963, at St. Joseph's Church, she married Philip J. Farris, who survives.

Nancy was a 1960 graduate of Olean High School and continued her education at Buffalo State, where she earned her bachelor's degree in home economics.

Nancy worked for BOCES for about three years from 1969-1972, where she established a children's daycare program and facility. In 1972 she started working for Cattaraugus County Department of Social Services, where she worked for 26 years until her retirement in 1998.

Nancy was a member of the Red Hat Society and a Bunco Card Club and was formerly a member of Jayncees.

Nancy loved her husband and sons, but most of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she loved to spend time with.

Besides her loving husband, Philip, Nancy is survived by her two sons, Philip J. (Bambi) Farris of Haskell Road and Peter J. (Nancy Vreeland) Farris of Allegany; four grandchildren, Amy, Stacia, Gregory and Lindsay; five great-grandchildren, Harlow, Raelynn, Liam, Aurora and Cruz; a sister, Judy Kramer of West Seneca; and a niece, Michele.

Nancy was predeceased by her parents.

A funeral liturgy will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2025, at St. Joseph Maronite Catholic Church, 1102 Walnut St., Olean. Father Claude Franklin will celebrate. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Allegany.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean.
