Noel Poling Obituary
SALAMANCA - Noel Poling, 89, of Salamanca, died Monday evening (Oct. 7, 2024) at the Salamanca Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, following a short illness.
Born Aug. 20, 1935, in Philippi, W.V., he was the son of the late Noel Sr. and Georgia Andrick Poling. He was married on Feb. 27, 1971, to the former Linda Wilson, who survives.
Noel had been employed as a machinist with Highland Plastics for over 10 years, retiring in 1997; and worked in the Green Thumb Program at the Route 86 rest stop in Allegany.
He was a member of the Salamanca Church of Christ. He enjoyed, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving besides his wife are four daughters, Debbie (Gary) Burner of West Virginia, Kim (Joel) Winship of Kill Buck, Robin Quattrone of West Virginia and Kristin Brady of Salamanca; four sons, Doug (Carol) Poling of Great Valley, Mark (Cindy) Poling of Great Valley, James (Nathalie) Poling of Salamanca and Ben (Holly) Poling of Ohio; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Virgile (Sandy) Poling of Cyclone, Pa.; three sisters, Nancy (Larry) Pierce of Salamanca, Sharon Johnson of Asheville, N.C. and Donna Stevens of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two sons, Craig Poling and Mike Poling; and six sisters, Carol Schreckengost, Norma Jean Jones, Mary Burner, Theresa Wiedlich, Ruth Carder and Dorothy Daughtery.
There will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family and will be announced.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River St., Salamanca.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Van Andel Institute for Dementia Research or the Dementia Society of America.

I worked with Noel at the 86 Rest stop. He was great to work with and tought me what to do. Always a gentelman! RIP Noel. I'm sure you will be missed.
