Paul Whitestone Obituary

OLEAN - Paul "Dick" R. Whitestone, age 92, a longtime Olean resident, passed away Monday, March 8, 2021, at his home.

Born April 2, 1928, in Salt Lake City, Utah, he was the son of Carl J. and Phyllis Lasher Whitestone.

The family moved to Olean when he was 16 years old. While attending high school, he met the love of his life, Marien C. Furcht, and the two later married on March 19, 1950. Together they shared over 70 years of marriage, until her passing on Jan. 4, 2021.

Paul worked for NAPA Auto Parts store in Olean.

He is survived by nieces; nephews; and special friends, the Zeigler family, the Rhinehart family and Margaret.

In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his siblings, Jack W. Whitestone, A. Aileen Roberts and Judy D. Kruse; and his sister-in-law, Orien Fitch.

There will be no services for Dick at this time. Private burial services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorials if desired can be made to the Cattaraugus County SPCA, 2944 Route 16N, Olean.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 1303 E. State St., Olean.
