Robert Barone Obituary
He was a graduate of St. Bonaventure University; enjoyed a 38-year career with New York Telephone, AT&T and Verizon; and was a fixture on the Lakeside Drive docks, in Bemus Point, for 35 summers.
Beloved husband of Margaret Kayes Barone; loving father of Michael (Tara) Barone and Mary (H. William) Bell; cherished grandfather of Sabrina, Ethan, Connor and Noah. He is also survived by his dear sister, Maryann Barone Petrella; six dear nieces and nephews; as well as many wonderful friends from Olean, Bemus Point, New York Telephone and Buffalo's West Side.
He was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Vincey; brother, Charles; brother-in-law, Joseph Petrella; and sister-in-law, Virginia Pino Barone.
Due to the ongoing pandemic concerns, a private mass of Christian burial was held for family members only, but a celebration of life will take place later in 2021.
In lieu of flowers and other gifts, the family would welcome donations made in Bob's memory to The West Side Rowing Club, ATTN: Schaab Fund, where he formed his lifelong love of the water, or The Chautauqua Institution, the cultural heart of the lake he treasured.
