Robert Joseph Zelko

WEST CLARKSVILLE --- Robert Joseph Zelko, a longtime resident of West Clarksville, entered into eternal life on August 1, 2024 to be with his loving wife.

Born in Glassmere, PA., on July 31, 1930, he was the son of the late Peter and Francis Wesoloski Zelko. On October 10, 1964, in Olean, he married the love of his life, Annette Zelko.

Mr. Zelko graduated from Portville Central School in 1949. He served in the US Army in the United States, as well as in Germany. Bob grew up around dairy farming. He had been employed by Ed Hartnick, grinding feed for area farmers. He also worked at Valley Farms Dairy in Olean before going to work at Friendship Dairies, Inc., where he retired from 1992. He was also a life member of the West Clarksville Fire Department.

He is survived by three sons, Brian (Helen) Zelko of West Clarksville, Paul (Melanie) Zelko of Nashville, TN., and Ted (Kristina) Zelko of Bradford, PA.; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Annette; three brothers, one sister, and a grandson.

Family will receive friends at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc., 51 S. Main Street, Portville on Friday (August 9, 2024) from 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday (August 10, 2024) from 10-11 a.m., with funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home, with Rev. David Cook, pastor of Obi community Church officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Allegany American Legion. Robert's ashes will be combined with Annette's and then spread at a location near and dear to both of them at a later date.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Obi Community Church or the Obi Community Church Men's Group, of which Robert was a member 1948 Route 305, Cuba or to a charity of the donor's choice.
