Ronald Wasmund

OTTO - Ronald Wasmund, 70, of Otto, passed away Friday (April 18, 2025) at his home.

He was born June 28, 1954, in El Paso, Texas, the son of the late David and Marilyn Botsford Wasmund.

On July 12, 1975, he married the former Betty Schwartz, who survives.

Mr. Wasmund worked at Setterstix in Cattaraugus for 28 years, serving as comptroller. He also is the current Town of Otto Supervisor, a position he's held for over 30 years.

Ron was a member and treasurer at Skyline pool in Cattaraugus. He was a musician and loved to play the drums.

Besides his loving wife of 49 years, he is survived by a son, Chad (Jennifer) Wasmund of North Tonawanda; a daughter, Deven (Eric) Adams of Ravenna, Ohio; and four grandchildren, Johnny and Joey Adams and Danny and Vincent Wasmund. Also surviving are three sisters, Lynda (Terry) Bradley of East Otto, Sharon Feely of Florida and Wende Porter of Hamburg; a brother-in-law, Ronald (Darlene) Schwartz of Florida; three sisters-in-law, Cindy (Chuck) West of South Dayton, Wendy Waite of North Carolina and Susan (Al) Parker of Randolph; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday (April 23, 2025) at the Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 411 Rock City St., in Little Valley. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday (April 24, 2025) from St. John's Church in Cattaraugus, with Rev. Mike Trenchard officiating. Burial will be in North Otto Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
