Ronnie Dunkleman Obituary

Ronnie Edward Dunkleman

AUSTIN, TX - Ronnie Edward Dunkleman, age 82, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2025, in Austin,Texas. Born on July 28, 1942, in Salamanca, New York, Ron grew up in Little Valley and graduated from Little Valley Central School, Class of 1960.

Ron began his career with the Erie Lackawanna Railroad as a brakeman, but his true calling was with the United Parcel Service, where he worked as a respected driver for over 30 years. Though offered several management opportunities, he proudly chose to remain on the road - among people and the outdoors, where he felt most alive. An avid sportsman and passionate deer hunter, Ron was renowned for his beloved camp, "Dunks Bunch", a gathering place in every sense of the word. Whether for hunting season, cookouts, or simply conversation, all were welcome. He was the life of every party, often

with a story in hand and a grin that lit up the room.

Ron's generosity was as big as his personality. He loved giving back - whether it was through community fundraisers or serving up mouthwatering BBQ from his legendary Dunk's Chicken Truck. Every summer, he opened Camp to kids with special needs, turning days by the pond into pure joy. His garden was massive, and if you stopped by, chances are you didn't leave without an armful of sweet corn or fresh veggies. Ron and his buddies made sure summers were unforgettable with the annual "Dunk's Golf Tournament" - equal parts competition and laughter. When winter rolled in, he traded golf carts for snowmobiles, leading adventures through the woods and helping others explore and enjoy the beauty of the area he loved so much.

He is survived by his children: Ronnie Todd, Penny, Shelly, and Timothy, and their mother, Linda Dunkleman Scharf; his stepson, Richard "Dick" DeBoy; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Ron was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Kari; his grandson, Nicholas; his parents, Edward and Florence Dunkleman; and his sister, Susan Young.
