GREAT VALLEY -- Sandra A. Simons, 70, of Great Valley, NY, formerly of Bradford, PA, died Thursday morning, November 20, 2025 at the Houghton Rehabilitation & Nursing Center following a short illness.

Born March 16, 1955 in Gowanda, NY, she was the daughter of the late Duane and Evelyn Prosser Kelley.  She was married in Mansfield, NY to Carl R. Simons Sr., who predeceased her in 2019.

She attended Cattaraugus and Randolph schools.

Sandy had been employed as cleaning supervisor with the former Hotel Dudley in Salamanca, as kitchen manager with the St. Elizabeth Motherhouse in Allegany, and as a housekeeper at Holiday Valley Resort in Ellicottville.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, the outdoors, camping, watching the sunrise, and stargazing.

Surviving are:  two sons, Ron (Wendy) Waite, Salamanca, NY, Robert Waite, Great Valley, NY; a grandson who she raised, Ronnie Waite, Great Valley, NY; a great-granddaughter, Emma May Lynn Waite, Great Valley, NY; three sisters, Sharon Peck, Panama, NY, Dora (Patrick) Hogle-Judge, Princetown, WV, Delinda (Richard) Cline, Little Valley, NY; sister-in-law, Cathy Kelley, New Albion, NY; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Greg Westlake.  Sandy was the light of our big, wonderful family and she will be missed by so many.

She was predeceased by a son, Daniel in 1974, three brothers, Duane R. Kelley, Leon W. Kelley, Kenneth L. Kelley, and two sisters, Shirley Colter and Doreen Kelley.

Friends may call at the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc Funeral Home, 25 River Street, Salamanca, NY on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 from 2 – 3 p.m., at which time funeral services will be held.

At a future date, a Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc Funeral Home toward Sandy's funeral expenses.
