Shaun Costa Obituary
ALLEGANY - Shaun D. Costa, 39, of Allegany, passed away due to cardiac arrest on Nov. 5, 2022.
He was the oldest son of Ted and Dianne Costa of Allegany.
Shaun graduated with honors from Allegany-Limestone High School in 2001, participating in football, basketball and track. After high school he attended Alfred State College, taking heavy equipment mechanics. He later attended Corning Community College and became a licensed critical care paramedic and flight medic.
Shaun worked with both Trans Am Ambulance in Olean and Starflight of Jamestown. Those were his dream jobs and helping others with medical emergencies was what he was called to do. He was presently working as a heavy equipment mechanic at S&S Fleet Solutions.
At a young age Shaun developed a love of sports, hunting, fishing, Buffalo Bills football and St. Bonaventure basketball. His will be most remembered for his quick sense of humor and quirky wit.
Shaun is survived by his parents; his daughter, Madelyn Price-Costa, whom he loved beyond measure; two brothers, Shane Costa of Buffalo and Bradley (Sara) Costa of Mebane, N.C.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road, Olean. A prayer service will be held at 9:15 a.m. Thursday (Nov. 10, 2022) in the funeral home. A funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. in St. Bonaventure Church, 95 E. Main St., Allegany. Deacon Matthew Wenke and Captain Megan Moretz will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Shaun's name can be made to the Allegany-Limestone Sports Boosters Club, 3131 Five Mile Road, Allegany, NY 14706.
