Alan Dodds Obituary

DODDS-Alan Stuart, 88, 1936 graduate of North High, and one of three sons and one daughter of Omaha architect, Everett Sherwood Dodds and Mabel Schoelkopf Dodds, died on March 24 in Dallas, TX, where he had lived since 1945. He never forgot his Omaha roots. The Corporate Architect for Southland Corp. for 26 years, Dodds attended Carnegie Tech in Pittsburgh with both brothers and was the first Kiltie Band bagpiper. He was an avid trout fisherman, private pilot, painter, bird lover, sailor, and genealogist. He is survived by his wife of almost 66 years, Jeanne Ditzler Dodds; his sister, Jean Dodds Howe of Minneapolis, MN; daughter, Patricia Dodds McGuire and husband Michael McGuire of Palo Alto, CA, daughter, Ann Dodds Costello and husband Richard Costello of Beverly Hills, CA; son Thomas Dodds of Dallas; two grandsons, Brian Costello of Los Angeles and Gregory Costello of Dallas. His brothers E. Loren and Robert Dodds predecease him. Memorial service held on March 28.

I am Alan's niece from his brother Robert. I've just returned from the memorial service in Dallas. We miss him already.....
