Omaha. Passed away at the VA Medical Center in Grand Island, NE. Mr. Shapcott was born in Emerson, IA, the son of Irving R. and Maxine T. (Hatfield) Shapcott. He received his education in Iowa. He entered the United States Navy, February 9, 1962 and served until his discharge in February 8, 1965. Survivors include his wife Sylvia M. Shapcott, Omaha; 3 daughters, Elizabeth Fry, Iowa City, IA, Cassidy Archbald, Minneapolis, MN, Cristy Shapcott, Bellevue; 2 brothers, Howard Shapcott, Iowa City, Roger Shap-cott, Corpus Christi, TX; 2 sisters, Barbara J. Slaughter and Sharon Scott both of Glenwood, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister Marlene Ryun.
MEMORIAL GRAVESIDE SERVICES will be 1pm Monday, July 26, at Ft. McPher-son National Cemetery, Maxwell, NE, with the Rev. Carey Higgins officiating. North Platte Honor Guard will provide Military Honors. APFEL FUNERAL HOME
